The Doctor of Psychology in Counseling Psychology (Psy. D.) is designed to integrate counseling and psychological theory with practice and development of professional skills in the specialties of counseling psychology and related fields. The emphasis of the program is to develop skills to address culturally distinct underserved populations. Diversity is infused throughout the curriculum and training opportunities are integrated into all aspects of counseling psychology. The program is oriented toward adult learners and designed to meet standards of excellence. The program is designed to provide opportunities for those who are being underserved in our communities to acquire skills, knowledge, and networks to advocate and expand change and stability within and outside of those communities.
