The successful candidate will teach four sections of Theology a semester, largely in the university’s new and innovative integrated education program, especially on the first year and sophomore level. The successful candidate will be Catholic, and have a thorough familiarity with contemporary Catholicism and its theologies. Experience teaching general education or similar courses in a college context is strongly desired, as well as demonstrated aspirations toward undergraduate teaching excellence. A planned research and academic engagement trajectory that supports classwork is expected. A demonstrated desire and ability to engage ecumenically and interreligiously with students and faculty is desired and welcomed. Finally, the successful candidate's work must exhibit a discernable appreciation for the liberal arts and the Catholic intellectual tradition, as well as the ability to support and contribute to the Lasallian Catholic mission of the university.
The successful candidate must support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary's University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.
Education and Experience
Qualifications:  a terminal degree in Theology (Ph.D., STD, etc.).  ABD candidates will be considered. It is strongly preferred that the candidate has experience teaching liberal arts-oriented Theology on the college level.
