Position Responsibilities
The Office of Student Activities strives to provide engaging programs for undergraduate students on the Winona campus and allows students to expand their knowledge base outside of the classroom, keeping with the Lasallian tradition of developing the holistic person.  The Coordinator of Student Activities provides the vision for student activities, clubs / organizations, and leadership development.  The Coordinator works closely with the Dean of Students to ensure quality in all areas of programming and experiences. 
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Develop a programming model and strategic initiatives to promote a vibrant residential community through spiritual, educational, social, and unity in diversity campus wide-events
  • Create and implement weekend programming events for students (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday after 8:00 p.m.)
  • Advise the Student Activities Committee
  • Develop student leaders within the co-curricular guidelines of the Hendrickson Institute for Ethical Leadership 
  • Assist with implementation of the co-curricular outcomes and assessment 
  • Manage the co-curricular transcript and the Involvio system 
  • Oversee, train, and mentor summer student workers within the area of Residence Life / Camps and Conferencing  
  • Plan and implement welcome weekend, family weekend events, six week committee programs, and other Student and Residence Life special events
  • Manage Office of Student Activities website, social media presence, online registration, campus TV advertisements, and marketing publications in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications office 
  • Provide comprehensive advising and guidance to club / organization advisors including risk management, leadership, and business office policies
  • Oversee student activities and organizations handbook and travel policy in conjunction with the student handbook and all university policies
  • Maintain department budget(s)
  • Plan and implement recognition programs highlighting accomplishments of students 
  • Coordinate implementation of involvement fairs
  • Assist students with recruitment of faculty and staff as club / organization advisors / moderators 
  • Train, supervise, and mentor student office staff during the academic year
  • Participate in meetings and serve on various campus committees as approved by the Dean of Students 
Essential Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are required, with proven ability to plan events and special programs collaboratively.  Must be able to relate well with students, parents, faculty, and other professionals in an academic setting.

Education and Experience
Master’s Degree with an emphasis in student personnel, counseling, higher education administration, or related field is preferred.  Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in student development, student government, or student activities is preferred.
