Position Responsibilities

The Graduate School of Health and Human Services at Saint Mary’s University seeks an experienced, dynamic individual to serve as a full-time Program Director to (1) provide leadership for the BS in Nursing program (online, 50% time) and (2) tasks related to developing other healthcare programming at our Minneapolis campus (50% time). The programs encompass policies and accreditation standards set forth by accrediting agencies that include the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the Minnesota State Board of Nursing, and possibly in the future, the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).  The Program Director will ensure program vitality and academic quality by balancing administrative, academic, and outreach functions. The Program Director will work within a community of professionals dedicated to providing relevant, rigorous and relational academic experiences for adult learners. She/he will be accountable for overall program administration, faculty and curricular leadership, student advising, professional development, community partnership development, and university service activities.

Education and Experience

Candidates are required to have a Master’s degree in Nursing (doctoral degree preferred) and experience in public health practice.  The ideal candidate will also have an MPH (Master of Public Health), although applicants without an MPH but with extensive public health experience will be considered.

Also preferred: Experience in higher education, including responsibilities in teaching, program development, and/or administration.
