Wow! Last night was our second to last regular season game of the year! It is amazing how fast the volleyball season went this year. We came to school August 21st for tryouts, and it is already more than two months past that point. We played Carleton last night and came away with a very good win; beating them 3 games to one (for those of you who might not know a whole lot about volleyball the match consists of whoever wins 3 out of 5 games). The games were all really close but our girls played great and got the “W”. Even though I am unable to play at the moment, I still get so worked up and energetic during the game. I suppose that will never go away; old habits die hard! I love seeing my girls out there being so competitive and really giving everything they have out on the court. For you who are interested in college athletics, you know there is nothing better than getting that game-winning point; especially when the game is close. The MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) is so strong in volleyball and continues to provide very talented teams to compete against. The victory is even sweeter when you are playing against an opponent your ability or better. We finish up our regular season this Saturday against Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter, MN.
“Progress is not always a straight line in which we must defeat or outstrip others and there is only one winner. Progress is a circle in which we strive to use all our talents and complete ourselves. Potentially, we are all winners.” — Gloria Steinem
