SMEI Certification Sales and Marketing Executives International, Inc. (SMEI), with over 10,000 members around the world, is the only worldwide educational and relationship-building forum created for sales and marketing executives and entrepreneurs who seek professional growth in experience, leadership skill and peer contact. Saint Mary’s University has recently signed an agreement with SMEI. According to this agreement, students within the Bachelor of Science in Sales and Marketing program at Saint Mary’s University will be eligible for SMEI Certified Professional Salesperson certification (SCPS), without taking the certification exam, if the following conditions have been fulfilled: Complete the following five courses at Saint Mary’s University with grades of “B” or better: MK301 Marketing in a 21st Century Global Economy MK302 Marketing Ethics MK440 Business Sales MK441 Professional Sales Strategies MK442 Sales Management Have a minimum of one year of professional experience, as outlined by SMEI, to be eligible for SCPS certification. For students without the prerequisite level of professional experience, the designation of “IT” (in training) will be granted until the professional experience has been obtained. Pay the $450 application fee to SMEI, with a $95 annual renewal fee.
