Faculty Ayanna Farrell, M.A. Culturally Responsive Teaching - Adjunct Instructor (651) 748-7535 firstname.lastname@example.org Ayanna Farrell has worked with Minnesota’s desegregation rule for over 15 years, currently serves as the coordinator for integration collaborative and is a licensed EBD teacher. Previously Ayanna worked as juvenile probation officer, children’s mental health director, community counselor and an alcohol, tobacco and other drug coordinator. She is a qualified IDI administrator, certified instructional coach and has been a SEED instructor for over 10 years. Ayanna regularly provides staff development workshops on the value of cultural competence in K-12 education, building relationships across human differences and best practices in educational equity. Ayanna was born in Minnesota and comes from a racially, culturally and religiously diverse family. With one parent from Ireland and the other from the sea island’s there were always opportunities to learn from one another. She has an M.A. in Education from the University of St. Thomas and her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and Sydney University in New South Wales, Australia. Other important aspects of Ayanna’s life are family, jazz, traveling and issues of social justice.
