Autism Spectrum Disorder Licensure Preparation

Offered within Saint Mary’s Master of Arts in Special Education

This is a new option for educators who are already licensed as a special educator and looking to add ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) licensure. All courses and practicum meet Minnesota ASD standards.

Licensure Program Practicum Overview
We are excited about our partnership to help better serve the ASD community. The Field Placement Office (FPO) works with the Master of Arts in Special Education and Master of Arts in Instruction students to facilitate, place, and review field experiences to ensure eligibility for licensure.
Course Requirements

For learners with an existing Elementary Education license (K-6)

Schedule

All courses are offered in a fully online format.  The practicum will be completed on-site at locations meeting the requirements outlined by the Field Placement Office (see Licensure Program Practicum Overview above).  For more details on when the online courses are offered please view the Course Schedule.

  • $25 Application Fee (waived if SMU alumni or military)
