Dr. Peltier is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Psychologist. A leader in the marriage and family and psychology fields, he was a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Minnesota Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He chaired the State Leadership Conference Planning Committee for the American Psychological Association and headed their Healthy Business Initiative. Dr. Peltier has advocated for mental health issues on the state and national levels and has received awards on the national level from the American Psychological Association for his advocacy work on mental health parity and inclusion of mental health benefits for seniors. He designed the M.A. Marriage and Family Therapy program as well as the Play Therapy program at Saint Mary’s University and also established a marriage and family therapy program at the University of Virginia. Dr. Peltier was appointed to the Governor’s Committee for Health Care Reform. He maintains a private clinical practice in St. Paul.
