Admission Policy - International Students
Admission of Foreign Students
Candidates for admission from foreign countries must file a Saint Mary's application for undergraduate admission and the $40.00 non-refundable application fee. The student must forward all original academic credentials to the Vice President for Admission. English language proficiency is required and the student must demonstrate this proficiency by submitting scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Generally, a score of 550 or higher is required on the TOEFL to be considered for admission. Admission will be granted if the academic materials indicate satisfactory preparation for academic work at the university.
Accepted international students are required to submit a $300.00 confirmation deposit. Upon acceptance to Saint Mary's University, you will need to submit a confirmation deposit in the amount of U$ 300.00 to the university. The deposit is credited towards the student's first semester tuition. If the student fails to obtain a F-1 student visa from the U.S. Embassy, the university will refund the deposit upon receipt of the original SEVIS Form I-20 issued to the student. The university will deduct an administrative processing fee of U$ 100.00 from the confirmation deposit prior to the refund. Any unpaid balance for tuition, books, student related fees, and room and board fees are to be paid in full at the start of each semester or special program.
