Allison Christensen ’16 is currently interning for the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST) in Washington, D.C. The junior Electronic Publishing major is getting valuable hands-on experience on how to use social media and other digital marketing resources for a real-life project.

As the digital media intern, Christensen spends the majority of her time working on a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in an effort to raise funds for a documentary being made by CREST. The film, “Innovating the Caribbean”  will serve as an educational tool to teach individuals and businesses in the tourism industry about best practices for achieving sustainability and supporting their local communities and cultures.

“I made the trailer, wrote the text, designed all of the graphics, and came up with the perks. I also make regular updates.” she said.  “We are receiving a lot of good feedback on social media and the Indiegogo page is being viewed over 100 times almost every day.”
