High-tech center promotes innovative teaching
A Technology Innovation Center opened last month on the Winona campus that promotes new and effective ways of teaching. The dedicated space in Saint Mary’s Hall offers flexible technology and seating that allows for a variety of uses and promotes discussion and collaboration.
Closely aligned with the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), the Technology Innovation Center provides an opportunity and space where instructors can learn, test and practice innovative uses of technology for teaching and learning, and where support staff can receive training and development on technology that promotes the efficient operations of the university.
Recently, at the invitation of the chief information officer and instructional technology leaders, Apple Computer’s regional manager for education, Cliff Neuman, spoke with education faculty and other CELT participants on current innovative technologies and practices that are changing instruction and learning.
