Hendrickson Institute provides forums for important conversations
The Hendrickson Institute for Ethical Leadership continues to create a forum for important and timely conversations at our university and in our communities.
Last week Tuesday and Wednesday, the institute sponsored “SOLD: Human Trafficking in Minnesota and Beyond,” a panel presentation that drew 225 to Tuesday’s event at the Twin Cities campus, and 200 to Wednesday’s event in Winona. The moderator for both events was Fred de Sam Lazaro, director of the Under-Told Stories Project at Saint Mary’s University which is also sponsored by the Hendrickson Institute.
Along with the fall panels, each spring the institute sponsors a major event for the Twin Cities community, the Hendrickson Forum. This year’s forum is April 8, featuring a keynote address by Sheila Bair, former chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, former member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and current chair of the Systemic Risk Council. Bair will discuss financial regulation and how it impacts businesses and consumers.
Also at the spring forum, the Hendrickson Medal for Ethical Leadership will be awarded to an outstanding business or civic leader.
