WINONA, Minn. — Area musicians who love band music are invited to the Saint Mary’s University Concert Band’s first rehearsal of the season on

The Saint Mary’s University Concert Band was founded in 1990 as a college-community partnership. It’s directed by Dr. Janet Heukeshoven, professor of music and music education. Rehearsals are held in Saint Yon’s Hall, Room 158 on the Winona campus.
All interested musicians are invited to attend the first sight-reading and informational rehearsal of the season. Advanced high school students, students from Minnesota State College Southeast Technical who were active in their high school bands, and experienced adult community musicians are welcome to join the Saint Mary’s collegiate band members for an exciting new season.
The band performs a wide variety of music that ranges from traditional marches to the best contemporary band literature. The first concert is onand includes music by Gustav Holst, Sy Brandon and Frank Ticheli.
Membership and chair placement auditions are individually scheduled; audition details will be provided to players on firstname.lastname@example.org or (507) 457-1675.
