Admission Requirements

Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and earned an overall GPA of 2.75 (4.00 scale). A student may be accepted with less than a 2.75 GPA on a provisional basis. We prefer applicants have at least one to three years of relevant professional or volunteer experience. Qualified students are admitted on a space-available basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply early.

 Required Application Materials:

• A completed application form with the nonrefundable application fee of $25.00 (Check or Money Order Only). The $25.00 application fee is waived for Saint Mary’s Alumni and students seeking readmission.
• An official transcript issued to Saint Mary’s University from each undergraduate college or university attended, including an official transcript from the institution posting the applicant’s completed bachelor’s degree. Transcripts must be received from the credit-granting institution in a sealed envelope. Saint Mary’s can not accept transcripts that have been previously scanned, faxed, e-mailed, opened, marked, or damaged in any way. To order your official transcripts, please contact the credit-granting institution directly. If you are submitting foreign transcripts, please visit the Admission portion of the International Student section.
• A personal statement which includes the following:
  • a brief description of the applicant's background, training, and experience;
  • a statement indicating the career goals of the applicant and his/her reasons for seeking admission to this program;
  • a description of the areas that the applicant considers to be his/her strengths and areas in which the applicant wishes to develop greater strengths and abilities;and personal information the applicant wishes to share.
• Two letters of reference that verify professional and/or volunteer experience and academic ability.
• All applicants may also be asked to complete an interview with a program administrator.
