The goals of women’s programming at SMU are:
To celebrate the contributions of women to society, culture, church and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota;
To empower women students and community members to reach their full potential in a world where gender categories have enduring influence;
To contribute to the personal development of women and to support them in the integration of their personal development with other dimensions of their lives;
To advocate for gender equity throughout the university and to encourage a campus climate that is safe, healthy, and respectful of all people.
In order to meet these goals the Women’s Programming Office:
Sponsors and co-sponsors programs, activities, and discussions that contribute to women’s personal development and which affirm and celebrate women’s lives and contributions to society;
Maintains a resource library to disseminate information pertaining to women’s personal development;
Maintains a web page to inform the campus community of issues of interest to and about women and to promote external and internal networking opportunities for women.
