Vice President for Student Development

The Office of Student Development, headed by Chris Kendall, Vice President for Student Development, provides vision and leadership in areas that impact student life on the Winona campus and is charged with the overall administration of Student Development. The Vice President provides leadership for and collaborates with students, staff and faculty in creating a collegiate environment which meets the basic human needs that are fundamental to personal development and learning. The Vice President also works closely with the academic division to build communities that are conducive to learning. Coordination of such events as New Student Orientation and Family Weekend are based in the Office of Student Development.

As Dean of Students, Tim is a key member of the Student Development team and serves as a highly visible advocate and administrative liaison for SMU students. The Dean’s responsibilities include leadership for the following departments: Residence Life, Campus Ministry, Campus Safety and Food Service; serves as the University’s primary resource for judicial matters, and creates and implements student development policies and procedures.
