Faculty Awards

On Sunday, March 26 at the annual Saint Mary’s University Twin Cities Campus Recognition Ceremony two Counseling and Psychological Services faculty members received outstanding faculty awards.  The following words were said at the ceremony.

Dr. Larry Green has taught in the Counseling and Psychological Services program in Rochester for 17 years, near the beginning of the Rochester Center.  He received this outstanding faculty award in 1994 and has continued to excel in his teaching of three courses:  Counseling Theory and Technique, Marriage and Family Counseling, and Ethics and Professional Issues.  Dr. Green is a psychologist in private practice in southeast Minnesota.  Students frequently write that Larry promotes engagement with learning, so essential in this profession.

Dr. Jerry Shih is a psychologist at the University of Minnesota Counseling and Consulting Services and provides community mental health counseling supervision at the Neighborhood Involvement Program in Minneapolis.  He has taught Practicum Seminar, Career Counseling, and Counseling Skills and Practice in the Counseling and Psychological Services Program during the past four years.  This summer he will teach Multicultural Counseling.  Jerry is highly regarded by his students who describe him as well organized, sensitive, caring, and very accessible.
