Fees & Financial Aid

Fees for 2008

Tuition for the Master of Arts or the Graduate Certificate is $310 per credit.

Tuition for the Professional Certificate is $250 per Continuing Education Unit (CEU).

Room and Board, including a private room with bath together with all meals and snack-breaks, is $995.

Meal-and-snack plan for commuters is $345.

There are no other regular fees (e.g., for technology, exercise facilities, voicemail, and parking).

Tuition and fees are due on the third day of the summer residency.

Financial Aid
  • Tuition for programs leading to the Master of Arts, the Graduate Certificate or the Professional Certificate is lower than other comparable programs at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, thus reflecting the university's commitment to promote educational opportunities for the Church.
  • Costs for participation in the Institute are inherently lower than other programs because participants spend less time away from work and home. Students also spend less money for living expenses at the two-week summer residency than they would at a traditional six-week summer residency.
  • Applications for federal student loans are available for master's students from the Financial Aid Office at P.O. Box #5 or at 507-457-1437. Degree-seeking students who are awarded financial aid through the Federal Stafford Loan Program must enroll for at least seven credits per year.
  • Parish and educational administrators as well as diocesan authorities should be consulted for continuing education grants and scholarships for all or part of tuition, books, and room and board.
