The full/half-time policy of the Registrar’s Office of Saint Mary’s University is as follows:
Graduate Students:
Full time = 8+ credits per semester
3/4 time = 6-7 credits per semester
1/2 time = 4-5 credits per semester
Undergraduate Students:
Full time = 12+ credits per semester
3/4 time = 9-11 credits per semester
1/2 time = 6-8 credits per semester
Counseling and Psychological Services Practicum only:
Half-time status:
PY695 = 350 hours;
PY690 = 300 hours
(these courses are cross-coded)
PY696 = 350 hours
PY691 = 300 hours
(these courses are cross-coded)
Full time status:
Y692 = 700 hours
Less than half-time:
PY694 = 100 hours
Human Development Contract only:
Full time = 2 credits per month of contract
Half time = 1 credit per month of contract
Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum only:
NA771 = 480 hours = full time
NA772 = 480 hours = full time
NA773 = 480 hours = full time
NA774 = 480 hours = full time
Marriage and Family Therapy Practicum only:
MFT670 = 2 credits = half-time status
MFT671 = 2 credits = half-time status
MFT672 = 2 credits = half-time status
MFT673 = 2 credits = half-time status
Doctoral Students only:
Full time = 8+ credits per semester or 2 credits of
dissertation work
3/4 time = 6-7 credits of course work
1/2 time = 4-5 credits of course work or 1 credit of
dissertation work
*If full-time enrollment is necessary for financial planning and
loan deferment, students may register for additional courses to
gain full-time status.
