The Student Health Service staff adhere to the philosophy that decisions you make in the areas of nutrition, exercise, relationships, stress and other aspects of your life greatly affect your overall state of health. It is our desire to assist you in achieving and maintaining the highest level of health possible for you, in order that you may fully engage in your academic endeavors.
Services are therefore designed to assist you when you when you become ill, as well as to help you prevent illness. We provide treatment for minor illnesses and injury, non-emergency medical care, some laboratory testing, health counseling, education and referrals. In addition, we work with students to modify or remove health related barriers to learning such as special housing or nutrition accommodations due to a health concern.

Appointments
Nursing appointments are available 8:30a.m. to 4:00p.m. Appointments can be made by calling the appointment desk at ext. 1492 between 8:00a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
In the event you feel you need to see a nurse and no appointments are available, please leave your name and phone number with the receptionist and we will call you back.
A physician is on campus Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Due to this limited time, appointments to see the physician can be made only after an assessment by one of our registered nurses. Medical evaluations requiring extensive time will be referred off campus.
Call extension 1942 or stop in our offices to make an appointment to see a counselor or psychologist.
Cost
While there is no cost for professional nursing or medical services on campus, students are responsible for the cost of certain medications, laboratory tests, rental fee on equipment, and some treatments. Bills are sent directly to the student.Students are expected to pay these in a timely manner. Cost s incurred off-campus are the sole responsibility of the student. |
