What are the admission requirements? Admission requirements include a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, earned with at least a 3.0 grade point average.
How long does it take to complete the program? It typically takes 3 years to complete the coursework, and 1 to 2 years to complete the dissertation process. Although this timing is typical, you determine your own program pace based on your personal considerations.
When are classes held? Classes are offered on weeknights and Saturdays.
Where can I take classes? Courses are offered on the Twin Cities campus and at various off-campus sites each semester. Candidates in the off-campus program are required to take at least 6 credits of coursework on the Twin Cities campus.
When can I start the program? You can apply now and begin taking classes at the beginning of any of the three semesters.
How many transfer credits does Saint Mary’s University allow? A maximum of 12 graduate semester credits may be accepted if they are:
- appropriate in content to replace the content of a course in the Saint Mary’s University program
- earned from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- earned not more than 10 years prior to admission to the Ed.D. program at Saint Mary’s University
- not part of another degree program with the exception of credits earned toward licensure certificate or a specialist degree
- earned with a Pass or a B- or higher
- not independent study courses
- recommended for credit by the Ed.D. program director and approved by the dean
