In addition to the application procedures stated on the Program Information Sheet, international students need to complete the following:

FINANCIAL CERTIFICATION

Accepted students will need to complete the Non-U.S. CITIZEN STUDENT FINANCIAL INFORMATION form stating you have sufficient funds to cover the fees for tuition, books, and living costs during your first academic year at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota . Should you personally not have the funds, you will need a sponsor that will provide the funds on your behalf. This sponsor will need to complete the sponsor portion of the Non-U.S. CITIZEN STUDENT FINANCIAL INFORMATION form and supply the necessary documents to certify the funds are available for use.

In order to receive your Form I-20 you will need to provide documentation (certified bank statements) stating account balances sufficient to cover the following costs:

Tuition for the first two semesters
24 credits, US $365.00/credit $ 8,760.00

Books
Textbook costs are approximately $ 300.00

Medical Insurance
12 months, approximately $ 1,030.00

On-campus Living Costs for the first two semesters

You will need to provide Saint Mary's University of Minnesota with a photocopy of the personal information page of your passport.

ONCE ACCEPTED

Upon acceptance into the Master of Arts in International Business you will need to submit a deposit in the amount of US $300.00 to the university before an INS Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrants) can be issued to the student as a prerequisite for obtaining an F-1 student visa. The deposit will be credited towards the student's first semester tuition. If the student fails to obtain a student visa, the school will refund the deposit upon receipt of the original Form I-20 issued to the student. Any unpaid balance for tuition, books, fees and room and board shall be paid in full upon arrival of the student. A refund will also be issued in the event you are unable to attend; however a written notice must be sent to the university 90 days prior to the start of the semester.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

All students are required to have health insurance. The student may use their personal health insurance, providing that the insurance policy provides proper coverage while in the United States . Student must provide documentation of sufficient coverage. Medical insurance can also be obtained through the university at a cost of approximately $105.00/month which provides coverage for sickness, accident, emergency care and hospital visits (no pre-existing conditions or dental coverage).

The university requires all students to be tested for tuberculosis – TB tests done in other countries are not accepted by the US Department of Health; therefore, tests are administered at the Student Health Services on campus for approximately $8.00. If the student tests positive, an x-ray at the local hospital is required. The x-ray costs approximately $75.00 and is not covered by insurance. The cost of treatment (medicine) is covered.
