MEDICAL INSURANCE
All students are required to have health insurance. The student may use their personal health insurance, providing that the insurance policy provides proper coverage while in the United States . Student must provide documentation of sufficient coverage. Medical insurance can also be obtained through the university at a cost of approximately $105.00/month which provides coverage for sickness, accident, emergency care and hospital visits (no pre-existing conditions or dental coverage).
The university requires all students to be tested for tuberculosis – TB tests done in other countries are not accepted by the US Department of Health; therefore, tests are administered at the Student Health Services on campus for approximately $8.00. If the student tests positive, an x-ray at the local hospital is required. The x-ray costs approximately $75.00 and is not covered by insurance. The cost of treatment (medicine) is covered.
