The Office for Mission has as its purpose the preservation, enhancement, and deepening of the understanding of the university’s mission for all its stakeholders and constituencies. The Office for Mission was created to design, coordinate, oversee, and implement ways for all members of the university community to come to a deeper knowledge and ownership of the mission. Having completed an extensive university-wide consultative process in academic year 2003-2004, during which a new set of mission documents was developed, the Vice President for Mission and his office are charged with working to educate all members of the university community in regard to the mission. While the mission of the university is to awaken, nurture, and empower learners to ethical lives of service and leadership, the “how” and the “why” of the mission is shaped, inspired, and guided by the university’s Catholic and Lasallian heritage. |
