Academic Probation
A full-time student is placed on academic probation if the cumulative GPA is:
- below 1.600 at the end of the first semester;
- below 1.750 at the end of the second semester;
- below 1.900 at the end of the third semester; or
- below 2.000 at the end of any subsequent semester.
Students on academic probation, in academic jeopardy or monitored jeopardy will have the opportunity to formally meet with Ken McCullough, Assistant Director of Academic Advising, four times throughout the semester to discuss academic progress in each of their classes, analyze their study habits, and to review their academic progress reports. These meetings may also provide an opportunity for assistance in scheduling, major and career guidance, and referral to university resources which best address their concerns. In addition to regularly scheduled meetings, students may meet with Mr. McCullough at other times as needed.
Students are expected to be involved in and document activities that relate to improving their academic situation, possibly workshops sponsored through the Wellness Center, or workshops and programs offered by Career Services. |
