Saint Edward's Hall

Est. 1957

Saint Edward’s Hall is a two-story hall named after Bishop Fitzgerald, bishop of Winona during the 1950s. It is Saint Mary’s only first year coed hall on campus and is known affectionately as Saint Ed’s. This hall houses approximately 110 first year students in double rooms. Males live on first floor with women occupying the second floor of the hall. It is conveniently located next to Toner Student Center and the main cafeteria on campus. Saint Edward’s was recently renovated (summer 2005) with fire alarm system, sprinkler system, furniture and other amenities. The hall is substance free and for the safety of the residents is locked twenty-four hours.

The hall is part of the SMU wireless network. Each room is carpeted and contains cable hook-up, computer hook-up and telephone.

The rooms are approximately 11’ x 16’ with a sink and furnished window blinds.

Common areas included in the hall are: a main lounge, community kitchen with stove/oven, microwave, and refrigerator, computer pod with two computers and one printer, laundry room with five washers, six dryers (fifty cents per load), study area, and traditional community bathroom and shower areas on each wing of the hall.
