Access MnPALS/Renew Books

Access your MnPALS Account
1. To check the status of your account, check due dates, etc, go to the MnPALS catalog and click on the "Your Borrowing Record" tab (located on the top menu bar of the catalog).
2. Log in using the bar code number (235 . . .) that appears on the bottom of your St. Mary's ID card. Your password is your last name (or the first eight letters of your last name if you were enrolled at SMU before June 2005).

Renew Books and other Materials
1. To renew materials online go to the MnPALS catalog and click on the "Your Borrowing Record" tab (located on the top menu bar of the catalog).
2. Log in using the bar code number (235 . . .) that appears on the bottom of your St. Mary's ID card. Your password is your last name (or the first eight letters of your last name if you were enrolled at SMU before June 2005).
3. When your record is displayed, click "Loans."
4. Click the number next to the title that you want to renew.
5. Click "Renew."
6. The system will either renew the loan and display the new due date or will display a message explaining why the loan could not be renewed. If the due date does not change, the item has not been renewed.
7. Books out on an interlibrary loan may also be renewed in this way. However, you must wait for the lending library to give approval of the renewal request, so check back in a day or two to see if your request has been approved.
