Periodical Indexes and Databases
When you click on a subscription database from off campus you will be asked to supply your user name and password. Enter the same user name and password that you use for your other Saint Mary's accounts--e-mail, WebTools, Blackboard, etc. If you have access problems call Academic Computing at (507) 457-7800 or the Reference Desk at (507) 457-1562.
EBSCO Host Research Databases: Choose from a variety of databases, the most relevant of which are listed below.
- Business Source Premier EBSCO--Designed specifically for business schools and libraries, provides nearly 3,800 full text scholarly publications, including more than 1,100 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to the full text, this database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 4,600 journals. (Business Searching Interface--quick access to Company Profiles, Industry Profiles, Market Research Reports, and Country Reports combined with all of the journals in Business Source Premier )
- Regional Business News EBSCO--Regional Business News incorporates 75 business journals, newspapers and news wires covering all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States.

Emerald Contains 42,000 searchable articles from over 100 Emerald journals. Subjects covered include management, HRM, marketing, librarianship, mechanical engineering, electronic and electrical engineering.
JSTOR Access to well over 100 scholarly, peer reviewed journals, all full text articles. Use the Advanced Search for maximum control of results.
LexisNexis tutorial Provides U.S. and international news; company reports, news, and financial information; industry and market data; state and country profiles; legal news, research, and information, including Shepard's Citations; biographical and general reference information; and access to medical and health journals.
Management and Organization Studies Collection Full text access to Sage publications in the fields of organization studies, management, business, human resources, marketing, public policy, public administration, and industrial relations (1947- current issue).
Mergent Online Access to U. S. and international company data including business description, history, property, subsidiaries, officers and directors, long-term debt and capital stock. Provides 15 years of detailed financial information. Includes country reports.
Political Handbook of the World Provides thorough and accurate information on the major aspects of each country's government and political party system. In addition, the Handbook profiles 120 intergovernmental organizations, such as OPEC, NATO, the WTO, world and regional banks, and the agencies and specialized bodies of the United Nations.
ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Index to dissertations and theses in all fields of study. Provides citations and/or abstracts, as well as a 24-page preview of any dissertations that have been digitized in the Humanities and Social Sciences fields. Coverage is from 1861 to present. (ProQuest)
ProQuest NewsPapers Access to over 500 national and international newspapers including full text for the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
Science Direct Access to high quality journal articles, rated web sites, and reference works. Click the "Search" button and from the "Subject List" select "Business, Management, and Accounting."
Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage Good source for business and investment information. Includes industry surveys, stock reports, company descriptions and financials, and mutual fund research.
