Ting Ni is a tenured Associate Professor and Chair of History at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
She has taught courses in American history, Chinese history and US foreign relations since 1997.
Professor Ni has several publications and presented papers on both American history and Chinese history, including A History of the Chinese Who Studied in the US during the 1930s/40s (The Edwin Mellon Press, forthcoming); “More than a Place to Worship: Chinese Christian Church and Center in Philadelphia” (Migration World Magazine, Vol. 28 (No 4, 2000): 28-30); “China” (World Education Encyclopedia, 2001); “China” (World Press Encyclopedia, 2002), “Taiwan Economic Development and Women’s Political Participation,” (Modernity and Cultural Identity in Taiwan, 2001), etc. A member of the American Historian Association, the Association for Asian Studies, and the Association of Chinese Professors in Social Sciences, Dr. Ni has received many honors and awards for her scholarly achievements, such as Fulbright teaching grant, 2004-05; NEH fellowship for summer institute on Cold War, 1999; Balch Institute Fellowship, Summer, 1998, etc. Dr. Ni’s name is listed in Who’s Who in the 21st Century (International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England, 2002) and Marquis Who’s Who in America in honor of her outstanding contribution in the field of History (58th Edition, 2003). Dr. Ni was invited to participate a summer session of the Oxford Round Table on Human Rights and Civil Rights in Oxford University, England (2003), and co-chaired a panel discussion on globalization and its impact on women. She was also invited by a number of Chinese universities to give lectures on American History.
