The Budget and Planning Committee is chaired by the Vice President for Financial Affairs. Members are appointed by the President with consultation of the Faculty Executive Committee. The membership is to be representative of the university community with members who have a balance of knowledge and information on the planning and budgeting process. Faculty members will have a two year appointment and may be reappointed.
Duties:
- Oversee the planning and budgeting for the university.
- Prepare and communicate the annual planning and budget calendar.
- Have an understanding of the strategic plan and tactical initiatives set by the President and approved by the Board of Trustees
- Set priorities for the budget aligning the strategic plan of the university.
- Determine decision criteria for budget allocations.
- Review financial and statistical data to determine inputs for budget development.
- Recommend special initiative allocations after review from Deans and/or Vice Presidents focusing on strategic plan priorities.
- Communicate financial information to the university.
- Evaluate financial health, resource allocation, efficiencies, and effectiveness of outcomes.

The Facility Committee is responsible for providing appropriate facilities on the Winona campus, to support an effective learning environment, as well as a pleasant, safe and accessible living and working environment for the Saint Mary’s community.
Duties:
- Develop a new plan for overall improvements to campus space
- Review proposals for campus improvements and make recommendations for priorities and timetables for implementations.
- Form ad-hoc committee for special projects as required.

Technology Planning Committee – The Technology Planning Committee was established in the fall of 2000 on recommendation of the President’s Cabinet to address university-wide issues that relate to technology. This committee is made up of academic and administrative representatives interested in creating and implementing technologies for Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
