James Vogel is a tenured Professor of Chemistry and Chair of the Department of Chemistry at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.

He teaches General Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry courses. He has published and lectured in the areas of chemical education, inorganic synthetic chemistry and analytical chemistry. His interests include singing, aviation of all sorts, and computer technology in chemical education.
