Licensure and Legislation Information

Dr. Nick Ruiz, chair of the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy will be here at SMU in Mother Theresa Hall 102-104 next Thursday April 17 from 4:30 to 5:30 to discuss recent legislation related to licensure and reimbursement for Medical Assistance. Students, alumni, and faculty are welcome.

Fall Registration

Registration for Fall 2008 semester begins July 9, 2008. Please check the Current and New Students page for student and scheduling information and licensure information.

Faculty Awards

On March 8 at the Faculty Awards Day the following Counseling and Psychological Services Faculty received outstanding faculty awards:

John Henrich, Psy.D., L.P.

As an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Counseling and Psychological Services Program, Dr. John Henrich has made significant contributions to Saint Mary's University since he began teaching here in 2003. He has taught Developmental Psychology and Theories of Personality in the program and receives excellent evaluations from students. In addition to his excellent teaching, John serves as an advisor for students working on their integration papers and has served on a number of oral examination committees. He is a fine role model for students and has professionally and ethically handled difficult situations with students.

Sam Fink, Ph.D., L.P.

Since the summer of 1989 Dr. Sam Fink has taught in the Counseling and Psychological Services Program at the Rochester Center. His first course was the practicum supervision course which he continues to teach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Approaches, Counseling Skills, Counseling Theory and Technique, Brief Therapy, Personality Assessment and Orientation to the Profession. Sam also serves as an advisor and member or oral exam committees and contributes significantly to the success of the program in Rochester. As a psychologist he serves as an excellent role model for Saint Mary’s students.
