Adjunct Instructor
Dr. Sam Fink is an Ohio native who received his M.Ed. in Community Counseling from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University in Indiana. He has been licensed as a psychologist in Minnesota since 1984, and for the past 20 years he has worked as a psychologist and clinical supervisor at Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center in Rochester, where he has extended his teaching interest by providing clinical supervision to numerous practicum students and interns from various graduate schools.
He taught as an adjunct instructor for several years in the Counselor Education Department at Winona State University before accepting teaching assignments for Saint Marys University. He has taught at the Rochester Center for 18 years and holds the rank of Adjunct School Professor.
Dr. Finks varied teaching assignments have included practicum supervision, cognitive-behavioral counseling approaches, brief therapy, aginga behavioral sciences perspective, orientation to the profession of counseling, counseling skills and practice, counseling theory and technique, and personality assessment. During 2007 Dr. Fink will be embarking on a private clinical practice in Rochester. He is an advocate for the prudent use of evidence-based practices. He holds membership in the American Psychological Association (APA), the Minnesota Psychological Association (MPA), and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
