Elaine Hartsman, Licensed Psychologist, received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She has been in private practice since 1980, serving a wide variety of people. Existentialism has had a strong influence in how she guides her practice, which emphasizes the role of the “healing” relationship. Prior to private practice, she has worked in school districts with students with special needs and their families. She has also led several workshops that range from focusing on therapy skills to working with special populations. In addition, she has written a chapter, “Psychotherapy and Judaism,” which is part of the book Religious theories of personality and psychotherapy, edited by R.P. Olson, Haworth Press, 2002.
