Adjunct Associate Professor
Dr. Norton has taught at St. Marys University since 1992, through coursework in Psychological and Personality Assessment, Personnel and Vocational Assessment, Correctional Psychology, and Law & Psychology. Dr. Norton obtained his PhD from Denver University in 1990, a MA degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a BA from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He has worked primarily in correctional facilities most of his career; he has been in private practice since 2001 specializing in Forensic/Correctional/Law Enforcement Psychology.
He was awarded a Distinguished Service award from APA, Div 18 (Psychologists in Public Service) in 2006, and Outstanding Faculty awards from St. Marys University in 1995 and 2007. Dr. Norton has frequently presented at local and national conferences, and has published numerous articles in the Correctional, Forensic, and Law Enforcement psychological fields.
Dr. Norton is the Executive Director for the Mental Health in Corrections Conference, a nationally based grassroots organization providing training for correctional mental health professionals.
