Dr. Stephen Parker earned a B.A. summa cum laude in
South Asian Languages and Literature at the University
of Minnesota and an M.A. and Psy.D. in Counseling
Psychology at the University of St. Thomas.
In
collaboration with Patrick Dougherty M.A. L.P. he
helped develop the first graduate level course in the
U.S. on male gender issues in therapy at Saint Mary's
in 1987. He has also taught Ethical and Professional
Issues in Psychology, Human Sexulaity, and the
Psychology of HIV/AIDS.
He has been in private
practice at Northland Therapy Center in St. Paul, MN
since 1985 and also teaches at the University of St.
Thomas and the University of Minnesota. As a long time
practitioner of yoga and meditation and a Registered
Yoga Teacher (500 hours) through the Yoga Alliance, he
serves as a senior faculty member of the Meditation
Center in N.E. Minneapolis and the Sadhanamandir and
Sadhaka Gram ashrams in Rishikesh, India. He has
taught workshops on meditation, yoga and spiritual
practice throughout North American, Europe and Asia.
