Dr. Ashley Sovereign earned her doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas and her masters from Saint Marys University. Currently, she is serving as the Director of the New Dimensions chemical dependency treatment program at the Faribault Correctional Facility.
She is involved in ongoing qualitative research on the characteristics of master therapists and has a history of involvement in social justice issues and counseling diverse populations. Recently, Dr. Sovereign spent a year as visiting faculty of the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of St. Thomas. She has taught in the areas of counseling skills and assessment, and has supervised clinical practica for masters and doctoral level students.
