Sharon Votel combines Psychology and Education in her professional pursuits. She has an M.A. in Special Education (i.e., Emotional and Behavioral Disorder) and a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, both from the University of St. Thomas. She works for an Intermediate School District, currently in a day-treatment program for adolescents. She has taught courses at SMU since 1990 in Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Professional Psychological Writing, General Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Development (i.e., Many Faces of Art: A Psychological Perspective), Developmental Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, Ethics in Human Services, and Ethics in Education. She also advises students in Counseling and Psychological Services and Human Development.
