Aysem Senyurekli holds a doctorate in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota. Her Master of Arts degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego and her Bachelor's degree is in Applied Psychology from Montana State University. Her teaching and research interests include intergenerational relationships in transnational families, the impact of public policy on the well-being of immigrant families, and personal agency in the international migration of women. She has been a frequent presenter and discussant at conferences of the National Council on Family Relations and is fluent in Turkish, English and conversational Spanish.
