SMU Joins Select List of International Institutions
MINNEAPOLIS – The Global Accreditation Center (GAC) of the Project Management Institute has awarded its “GAC Accredited Project Management Degree Program” to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and its Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs. Saint Mary’s is currently one of 12 institutions in the world to hold this accreditation.
“The GAC Award is a testament to Saint Mary’s quality standards and its outcome-based learning objectives. Our students and graduates are excellently prepared to meet the rapidly changing needs of businesses and government organizations in the field of project management,” said Jerry Ellis, director of SMU’s Master of Science in Project Management degree program.
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota joins a select list of accredited institutions including the University of Texas (Dallas), Boston University, Stevens Institute for Technology, the University of Management and Technology, Eastern Michigan University School of Engineering Technology, the University of Maryland and Western Carolina University. Internationally, the University of Quebec, the University of Technology (Sydney, Australia), Fachhochschule Landshut University of the Applied Sciences (Germany), and Groupe ESC Lille ISGI in France are also accredited.
The GAC bases its accreditation decisions on an institution’s ability to teach project initiation, planning, execution, control and closing, as well as the institution’s commitment to professional responsibility. The Saint Mary’s M.S. in Project Management provides advanced education for those leading complex projects in a variety of work settings. An international perspective is also incorporated into the program.
Saint Mary’s M.S. in Project Management degree program began in 2000, and currently enrolls 120 students at both the Twin Cities campus and Rochester Center. |
