The Hendrickson Institute’s mission is to serve current and emerging leaders of society. In addition to traditional scholarships, the Institute has developed a variety of programming on ethical leadership.
Currently the Hendrickson Institute offers four programs for businesses and non-profits:
- Corporate Directors Academy
- Servant-Leaders Training Academy (Link to Training Academy info – see text below)
- Business Owners’ Round Table
- Hendrickson Forum for Ethical Leadership (Link to Forum home page)
The Corporate Directors Academy focuses on improving corporate governance and ethical leadership while providing the necessary tools for recognizing and addressing ethical dilemmas. The program serves current and aspiring board members of non-profit organizations and corporations. Participants earn a Certificate of Corporate Director Qualification (CLE credits available).
The Servant-Leaders Training Academy is based on the life-enriching philosophy of Robert Greenleaf. It focuses on leading by first serving and by teaching a clear set of principles, values and relationships. The curriculum offers an experiential, skills-oriented approach to developing behavior based on Servant Leadership. Certified servant leadership trainers teach an experiential, skills-oriented approach. Participants earn Continuing Education Credits (CEUs).
A monthly Business Owners’ Round Table meets to discuss current ethical issues such as Character and Values; The Early Years of Starting a Business: Obstacles, Opportunities; Walking the Walk: Leading a Diverse Company; What is Work Ethic? Barriers and Opportunities for Leadership; The Late Years: Continuity in Your Business; and Following Through with Your Values.
The Hendrickson Institute for Ethical Leadership Forum was established by a generous, anonymous donation in 2007. The Forum’s purpose is to recognize an ethical leader with an annual award and to educate the Twin Cities community about topics related to ethical leadership in an annual, educational event.
In 2007 the Hendrickson Institute was moved from Winona to Minneapolis, allowing the expansion of programming within the Twin Cities community.
