Program Information: B.S. Sales & Marketing

The Bachelor of Science in Sales and Marketing program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in sales and marketing. The program addresses key processes in planning and executing marketing activities aimed at creating exchanges that satisfy both consumer and organizational objectives. Further, it emphasizes the importance of the value exchange and of a customer-centered strategy.

The program coveres the skills, techniques and best practices of sales, sales management and customer relationship management.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science program in Sales and Marketing are expected to be able to:

1. Develop a marketing plan.

2. Understand the marketing and sales functions in the context of organizational management and strategic planning.

3. Apply market research to marketing and sales decisions.

4. Integrate knowledge of consumer buying behavior into market and sales planning.

5. Select appropriate means of influencing target markets.

6. Demonstrate effective sales skills.

7. Understand sales management.

8. Communicate effectively in a variety of modes.

9. Work effectively with diverse populations.

10. Demonstrate critical thinking skills.

11. Understand the ethical implications of their actions.

12. Continue learning throughout their lives.

13. Demonstrate the general education competencies required for graduation.

Degree Requirements

A minimum of 122 semester credits is required for graduation with the bachelor of science degree from Saint Mary’s University. All students must meet the 10 general education competencies. A minimum of 45 credits is needed to complete the B.S. in Sales and Marketing program.
