Why was I assessed a service charge? A finance charge of 1% per month (12% per annum) will be added to all balances past due.
Why wasn’t I billed for a class? Students who are currently on a wait list for a course will not be billed until they are enrolled in the course. If a course was registered after the monthly billing cycle the tuition charge will appear on the next months billing statement.
How do I apply for financial aid? To apply with FAFSA online, go to www.fafsa.edu.gov or request a financial aid packet by calling 612-728-5212 or email your request to packetrequest@smumn.edu. The Saint Mary’s University school code is 002380.
How can I take advantage of my company’s tuition reimbursement program? Students who have a company reimbursement policy on file with the Student Services office in Minneapolis will have 30 days after the end of the semester to pay their bill. Students waiting for reimbursement will not be required to pay service charges until 30 days after the end of the semester. Please contact the Student Services Coordinator for additional information regarding this policy or to request forms.

Where is my class located? For courses offered on the Twin Cities campus, the course locations are posted daily at all entrances of La Salle Hall and Mother Teresa Hall. Do check the posted schedule when you arrive for class in case a room change has been made. For all off site classes the instruction site address is listed in the course schedule. If a change has been made students will be notified by mail or email.
Where do I park? Is parking free? Parking is free and available in the Zurah Shrine Center lot across Oakland Ave. Street parking is available on Oakland and Park Ave.
How do I drop a course? All registration and change of registration must be made in writing. Requests may be made with the registration card or course Add/Drop card. Requests may be mailed, faxed to 612-728-5121, or emailed to mplsdropclass@smumn.edu Students who withdraw after priority registration are charged a $30.00 drop fee. Does Saint Mary’s University offer Health Insurance? How do I sign up for Health Insurance? Saint Mary’s University offers students the option of obtaining health insurance through Rust and Associates. To be eligible, students must be registered with at least three credits at the time of enrolling in the program. The Health Insurance forms are located in the reception area or from the Student Services Coordinator.
Where do I buy books? All students taking classes at the Twin Cities Campus are responsible for purchasing textbooks at the Saint Mary’s University Bookstore located in La Salle Hall. Textbooks for all off site classes are available through MBS Direct at 800-325-3252 or visit http://direct.mbsbooks.com/smumn.htm on the web. Instructors expect that students purchase books for on and off-site courses prior to the first day of class.

Can I get a Saint Mary’s University email account? To obtain an e-mail account at no charge, students must submit the application for an e-mail account. Are computer labs available? Computers are available in the student lounge area, room 214 and room 224.
How do I gain access to the computers in the computer lab? A login and password are required to access the computers in the computer labs and student lounge area. How can the Writing Center help me? The writing center won’t fix your paper for you but will challenge the logic of arguments, question the validity of sources, comment on diction and tone, and note the unity of the content or the effectiveness of the transitions. The writing center will help you improve sentence and paragraph structure, and teach you how to recognize and correct your own mistakes.
