Saint Mary's Internship Program is an academic program designed to provide students with structured, work-learning experiences and to promote partnerships between Saint Mary's, the community, and the world of work.  Participating in the program means you join the faculty and staff at Saint Mary's in providing a learning experience for an undergraduate college student.  Organizations agree to provide challenging, substantial work experiences for students and to supervise and evaluate their performance.  In exchange, organizations receive valuable work contributions from highly motivated pre-professionals.

Internships are an integral part of Saint Mary's curriculum.  Each year, nearly 150 students from 20 Academic Departments participate in internships.  Students take on responsible roles as workers at government, nonprofit, education, and business sites.  Most students earn course credit for their internships.  Students work directly with site supervisors to create and manage their own internship experiences.  Under the joint supervision of a faculty member and the site supervisor, a student completes a learning plan that outlines his/her goals for undertaking the internship.
