E 360 - Literature on Location - Spring 2014

The following information is from the Spring 2014 offering of E360. The next offering of E360 is anticipated for Spring 2016 and will be led by Dr. Carolyn Ayers. Changes to the itenerary and cost of the program are expected.

E 360: Literature on Location 
(3 credits) English department elective or general education literature credit

Program Overview
This short-term study abroad program will be offered Spring semester 2014 and include a faculty-led tour of England in May 2014. Participants will explore English culture and history through an examination of literature and a literary tour of England focused on sites related to course readings while fulfilling their General Education literature requirement!

Cost
Course fee: $2,900
Course fee covers all in country housing and most in country travel, planned activities, and meals. 
* Cost of airfare, passport, and some in-country expenses are not included in the course fee and are the responsibility of the student.

Eligibility
Students need to have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and sophomore status. Eligibility will also be based on recommendations and record of behavior at SMU. A minimum of 8 students are required for the course.

Application Process
Visit the Study Abroad Office to apply and register for E 360

Students that wish to drop E360 need to withdraw through the Study Abroad Office by 4:00 pm on January 13, 2014 to avoid paying the course fee. Those who remain enrolled at that time will be responsible for the full course fee. 

Visit the Study Abroad Office, located in Saint Mary’s Hall, Room 136.

Students will stay at St. Cassian’s Centre, a Lasallian retreat facility on beautiful grounds near Kintbury, with overnight stays in hotels and bed and breakfasts.
