Applying to Saint Mary's as an international student
Who should apply to Saint Mary’s as an international student?
- Current high school or college students who are not U.S. citizens/permanent residents

International applicants must submit the following to the Office of Admission:
- An application for undergraduate admission (choose one the following):
SMU online application | printable version
Common App online application | printable versions
Universal College online application
- A $25.00 non-refundable application fee, If using the SMU printed application
- Original financial verification document(s)
- Original transcripts of high school/college/university grades, translated into English
- Score report from one of the following tests sent directly from the testing agency:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - SMU code: 6632
International English Language Testing Service (IELTS)
- Personal statement or essay
- Score report from one of the following tests, If requested, sent directly from the testing agency:
American College Test (ACT) – SMU code: 2148, OR
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) – SMU code: 6632
- Copy of your passport page(s) showing full name, birth date and passport expiration date
- Application for the US$8,000 – 14,000 International Student Cultural Diversity Scholarship (optional)
- US$300 confirmation deposit after admittance
