• Attend New Student Orientation & Registration, June 7, 8-9 or 11
• If you have registered, watch for tuition statements by email mid-month

July 2012

• Make certain all final transcripts – both high school as well as college (CIS, PSEO), including AP scores – have been sent to our Registrar’s Office
• You will receive your housing assignment in the mail . . . get in contact with your new roommate!
• First payment due (10-pay plan), July 5

August 2012

• Prepare for your transition to SMU
• New Student Orientation & Registration, Monday, Aug. 6
• New Student Orientation & Registration, Friday, Aug. 24 (long-distance travelers and transfers)
• Move to SMU: Move-In Weekend begins Saturday, Aug. 25
• Attend Move-in Weekend and Welcome Week activities
• Registration adjust, Monday, Aug. 27
• Start classes, Tuesday, Aug. 28
• Attend the Activity Fair to learn how to get involved on campus, Wednesday, Aug. 29

September 2012

• Stay in touch with your Orientation Leader – they will keep you up to date on activities and events on campus
• Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3 (no classes)
• Deadline for late registration and course adds/drops, Tuesday, Sept. 4

October 2012

• Invite parents and/or family to Family Weekend, Friday, Oct. 5 - Sunday, Oct. 7 (schedule coming this summer)
• Study for mid-term exams!
• Fall Break, Oct. 13-16

November 2012

• Register for spring semester classes – connect with your adviser or the Office of Academic Advising and/or Career Services as you think about potential majors or careers
• Thanksgiving Break, Nov. 21-26

December 2012

• Study for finals! (Dec. 14-15, 17-18)
• You have completed your first semester at SMU!
• Christmas Break, Dec. 19 - Jan. 13

January 2013

• Classes begin Monday, Jan. 14

• Submit FAFSA financial aid form for the next school year
