A. Eric Heukeshoven is Assistant Professor of Music at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. He directs the Music Industry and Jazz programs.

His mentors include Dominick Argento, Paul Fetler, Frank Bencriscutto, Tom Root, Erik Stokes, Kevin Dobbe, and John Paulson. Many of Heukeshoven's compositions are performed throughout the U.S. and in Europe and he is in demand as a jazz musician as well as a composer/arranger. Several of the composer's instrumental and choral work are currently in the Alliance Publications, Inc. catalog.

  • "The Chief" commissioned by William Neil for the final event of his McKnight Fellowship residency in Winona, MN. "The Chief", set for narrator, flute, clarinet, 'cello, and narrator is based on a poem by James Armstrong. (October 2009)

  • "Honneur a Toi" for Concert Band - Commissioned for the inauguration of Brother William Mann, 13th President of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota
  • "Things Things Things You Love" choral commission from La Crosse Chamber Chorale's "Words to Music" program. (7th commission in this program)
  • "Time / Machine" - self-contained, computer-based interactive multimedia installation. Exhibited in the Lillian Davis Hogan Galleries at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota (Winona).
  • Featured pianist at Great River Jazz Festival, LaCrosse, Wisconsin (several original jazz compositions performed)

  • Commissioned to compose a concert fanfare for the inauguration ceremony the 12th president of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota
