Stefannié Valéncia Kierlin London Theatre Program

Theatre majors who meet institutional requirements and who are in good standing in the department are expected to participate in the theatre semester in London, England. The London theatre experience, under the guidance of Saint Mary’s University faculty, includes:

  • Classes in theatre as well as courses focusing on broader enrichment
  • Attending numerous performances in London’s West End, Off-West End and Fringe theatres
  • Fully mounting a student production in a London theatre
  • Studying at Dublin’s renowned Gaiety School of Acting
  • Traveling to various sites in the United Kingdom as well as additional travel in Europe

Fall 2010 Performance: God's Country
A Semester In London
  • 2010 students in front of the stage of Henry IV, Part 1 at the Globe Theatre
  • The Globe Theatre
  • Stonehenge
  • An art installation at the Hayward Gallery visited by the Art in London class
  • D.W. Gregory, the playwright of Radium Girls which was performed at the Wimbledon Studio Theatre, meeting with the cast and crew in The Crypt at St. Martin's-of-the-Fields church, the day we arrived in London
  • 2010 Group at Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill
  • Train at Blenheim bringing us back from the Maze, Butterfly House, and outdoor games
  • Center of the Maze at Blenheim
  • Chess at Blenheim
  • Focusing lights at Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin, Ireland for our production of God's Country
  • Scotland!!!
  • On the set of August: Osage County at the National Theatre during our private tour of the National
