Judy Myers is a tenured Associate Professor of Threatre Arts at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.

Judy holds a B.A. in Music and Theatre from the University of Michigan (Flint) and a M.F.A. in Acting/Directing from the University of Arizona (Tucson). She comes to Saint Mary’s from Chicago where she was the resident musical director for New Tuners Theatre from 1989 to 1999, music directing and/or directing the world premieres of over twenty new musicals. Her musical direction of 4 a.m. Boogie Blues, the a cappella musical, garnered her a prestigious After Dark Award as well as a Joseph Jefferson Citation nomination. Musical scores include The Man Who Shot The Man Who Shot Jesse James, The Tempest, Dark of the Moon, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, and Caucasian Chalk Circle as well as numerous theatre songs. Judy also earned a Joseph Jefferson Citation for her sound design of The Incorruptible at Bailiwick Repertory Theatre of Chicago. She served on the founding Board of Directors for the Michigan Shakespeare Festival, as founding Board of Trustees Artistic Advisor for Michigan’s Buckham Alley Theatre, and Business Manager for Theatre Building Chicago. She teaches Acting, Directing, Oral Communication, Voice and Movement, Singing for the Stage, The Development of the American Musical, Theatre in London, London Theatre: Page to Stage, and Artscore as well as adjunct instructor for the music department teaching Vocal Coaching.

Judy's SMU directing credits include Company, remains, Our Town (London), Cabaret, The Misanthrope, The House of Bernarda Alba, The Sea Gull, subUrbia (London), The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Uncle Harry. Music directing credits include Candlelight Night and Day, Candlelight by the Sea, Baby, Gypsy, Candlelight 2000, and Into the Woods. Judy is also the director of the Rushford Area for the Arts (RASA) Community Showtune Choir. She has directed Dearly Departed and Hello, Dolly! for RASA as well. Other directing and performance credits include local cabaret gigs.
